Lead Pastor
Rev Tyler Sit
Rev. Tyler Sit is a lover of Minnesota, a United Methodist pastor, and the son of a Chinese immigrant. Sit earned a BS in Communication Studies from Boston University and a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology, and he has lived in four continents. He is the author of Staying Awake: The Gospel for Changemakers, which Barbara Brown Taylor endorsed saying ‘…it makes me want a do over on Christianity.” Sit has formal training as a prison chaplain, community organizer, and social entrepreneur. Sit started New City Church, and has been featured in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Minnesota Public Radio, and more for his work. He and his partner, Brian, live in Minneapolis. Worship Director
Jiwon Lee
Jiwon Lee has extensive experience as a soloist and collaborative. A native of Korea, Jiwon earned the Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano Performance at the Keimyung University. Ms. Lee also holds the Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano and Chamber Music from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts. Jiwon’s extensive teaching experience includes instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Seonghwa Girl’s High School, Donggok Elementary School, Dalseong County Youth Center and Keimyung University Community Service Investment Corporation Music virus business in Korea. Jiwon recently joined the piano faculty of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and was a staff pianist with the String Academy of Wisconsin, KUMC as well as Milwaukee Ballet. Currently, she studies with Professor Lovelace at UMN for her DMA in collaborative piano program.
